No matter your shape, weight, size, past experience, or ability, yoga is for every body.
There is a practice for everyone.
There isn’t a secret handshake or password. Your body does not have to be perfect or slim or flexible. Join us to discover how to listen and honor your body - of any size or capability. This workshop will empower you to find comfortable, steady, and easy versions of postures that fit your unique body shape and size — truly finding your unique yoga practice.
Over our time together, we’ll review foundational Hatha yoga postures and explore how we may modify those shapes and use various props to make them more accessible and physically enjoyable for you. We’ll mindfully work through a variety of options to discover what works best for each individual. We’ll conclude with a short Hatha practice, where students will have an opportunity to incorporate modifications they’ve identified, gaining confidence to use these techniques on their own, both at home or in the studio.
Please wear comfortable clothes (yoga leggings are not required!). Props will be provided. If you prefer to bring your own, we will use two blocks, two blankets, a large round bolster, a yoga strap, and a yoga mat.
